Cool Science is a Colorado Springs nonprofit dedicated to getting kids, parents and teachers excited about science. Cool Science, partnering with local corporations and universities, currently engages in chemistry, physics and earth science outreach to El Paso County 3rd – 8th graders in their classrooms, home schools, scout troops, and after school clubs.
We bring only the really Cool Science – solutions that change colors, liquids that turn into solids, solids that turn into liquids, glowing things, slimy things, bubbling dry ice, explosions (safe ones!), and electricity demonstrations that will make your hair stand on end! We are committed to showing students the fun side of science!
Further, Cool Science conducts exciting demonstrations and hands-on activities that are open to the public at both Colorado College and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Cool Science also conducts workshops in public venues such as "Who Killed the Principal's Dog" at the USAFA, “The Art and Science of Photography” at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry, Cardboard Boat Races at the Southeast YMCA, and Civil Engineering Day at the United States Air Force Academy.

Media Coverage:
Media coverage exploded this school year with our new regular monthly spot on KRDO's Good Morning Colorado program (watch clips from the show here).
Plus the Gazette featured a cool article on the CC Presents Cool Science!

Fabulous! Lizzy did a great job connecting with the students. You spoke "right to" the students at a level they could understand. Presenter did a great job keeping students' interest from one concept/demo to the next. Energetic, easily accessed materials, comfortable with students, constantly questioning |

Other Comments |
Lizzy did an excellent job. She kept the students interested and engaged. I would love to have Cool Science return next year. This is an excellent presentation that provides motivation for students to study science and provides a wealth of information that assists teachers in teaching state standards. |
