Judy Cara joined Intel Corporation as
the Community Relations Manager for Colorado in June 2000. Cara, a public
affairs professional with thirteen years of experience in the Colorado Springs
market, oversees Intel’s community involvement at both the local level and in
targeted statewide initiatives. Cara’s responsibilities include K-20 education,
with an emphasis on improving science and math education, career opportunities
for under represented populations, and employee volunteerism. The cornerstone of
Intel’s volunteer activity is the “Intel Involved” program, which encourages
employees to become active in their community. Most recently, Cara also
assumed responsibility for Intel’s media relations in Colorado, as well as local
governmental/legislative affairs. After leaving a position with the State
Department at the U.S. Embassy in her native England in 1979, Cara lived in
Nebraska for seven years before arriving in the Pikes Peak area. Prior to
joining Intel, Cara was Government and Public Affairs Manager for Colorado
Interstate Gas, a subsidiary of the Coastal Corporation. Cara’s current
community involvement includes board positions with the Colorado Springs Chamber
of Commerce and the YMCA, in addition to her volunteerism with the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation, District 11’s Business Sounding Board and the Colorado
Springs Corporate Citizenship Program. She also continues to learn and grow by
attending Regis University in her spare time! |
