For a list of other Participating Organizations, a PDF flyer, and other public event details click here

If you would like to volunteer and aren't already signed up, send an email to Marc or Kathleen below.

Please download this List of Cool Science Activity Stations (updated 27-Oct-2009) for detailed instructions and background science. One more I would like to do but haven't had time to write up is a DNA Extraction mini-workshop. If there's interest, we'll do it. Please think about what Activity Stations you would like to staff. We will try to do as many from the list above as we have volunteers to cover.

We will also have at least 2 drop-in training sessions next week where you can have a chance to practice, learn, customize or just have a little fun with the activities yourself. There will also be a sign-up sheet for the activity you would like to do. So far:

Drop-in Training Session #1: Tuesday November 3rd, 1-5 PM, SENG A-327 CSTEME K-12 Learning Lab

=> Marc will be at UCCS (SENG A-327) Wednesday from ~11 AM-1 PM if you want to stop by for training

Drop-in Training Session #2: Friday November 6th, 10 AM- ~2 PM, SENG A-327 CSTEME K-12 Learning Lab.

Friday Afternoon Set-Up: Meet at 3 PM in SENG A-327.

Where/When to meet on Saturday Morning: Volunteers should check in by 8:15 AM (earlier would be even better!) at the Volunteer Check-in Desk in the University Center Level 1 near the Information Desk. Participating organizations should try to arrive by 8:30 AM. You can unload in front of the loading dock on the south side of the University center, then take the ramp up to the door at Level 1 (don't actually enter the loading dock). We will have signs to direct you to the check-in desk.

We will provide lunch and breakfast snacks for all volunteers (including participating organizations)

Parking is free on Saturdays in all lots. The closest lot is #3 on the campus map.

For participating organizations, we'll provide tables and chairs for your station. Let Kathleen know if you will need electricity, water, would like to be outside (weather permitting), or anything else special.

We plan to have a map soon showing approximate location of all the stations throughout the University Center

=> We will have a Volunteer Appreciation Party on Sunday November 8th from 5:30-7:30 PM, at Fargo's Pizza, 2910 E. Platte. Come relax and enjoy some good food on us after all your hard work on Saturday. Feel free to bring family and any friends who might be interested in Cool Science.
