Join us every Thursday at 3 pm MDT for a live-streamed hands-on STEM lab for kids in partnership with Concrete Couch. This week (July 9th) we'll be learning how biologists dissect a specimen, which means to carefully cut it open and examine it scientifically. Our specimen for this lab will be a lemon. We'll identify its parts, learn some interesting facts and even show you a couple cool citrus science tricks!
This hands-on lab is ideal for all kid scientists ages 5-14 (younger kids with adult supervision), but space is limited so sign up soon. Here is a summary of what you will need to participate:
Hope we'll see you Thursday, and until then, this video from our YouTube channel should also get you in the July 4th spirit!
For more hands-on STEM activities you can do at home anytime be sure to check out Try Science at Home and our Facebook page (where we post a new activity every day). You also can watch a sample lab.
