The 2026 Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival Carnival Day at UCCS will be Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 from 10 am to 4 pm. This hugely popular event typically attracts over 8,000 attendees and features dozens of demonstration shows, performances, laboratory tours, interactive exhibits and hands-on activities for kids (primarily K-8th grades).
Example activity stations from previous Carnival Days include building and launching paper airplanes and rockets, building or controlling robots and drones, making slime, learning to use telescopes or microscopes, meeting animals, experimenting with magnets, virtual reality, computer programming, math games, chemistry experiments, excavating fossils, building towers, learning about plants and animals, practicing climbing techniques, and much more. Here's the Carnival Day page and map/flyer (741 KB PDF) from 2025 for more examples. You can also check out photos from 2025.
Activity Station Exhibitors typically arrive and begin to set up by 8 am on Carnival Day, must be ready to go by 10 am, and are expected to stay through the end of the event at 4 pm (let us know if you need special accommodations). Activity stations don't necessarily need to cater to all ages- in fact, we encourage you to target your activity to a subset, particularly younger grades (pre-K - Kinder) or older grades (6th - 8th grades).
Please complete the form below if you would like to present a demonstration, performance, UCCS lab demonstration or tour, or hands-on activity during the 2026 CSCSF Carnival Day at UCCS. If you have any questions before or after submitting the form feel free to contact us. We'll follow up soon with more info or if we have additional questions. Thanks.
