Our goal is simple: to make science more fun and less intimidating, not just for kids, but for parents, teachers and everyone. We are a passionate and enthusiastic group of volunteers led by real scientists, engineers and educators from local companies, schools and universities who enjoy sharing our interest in science, technology, engineering, art and math (that's the STEAM acronym we use a lot). We offer a wide variety of programs, mostly to elementary and middle schools, but also to libraries, home school groups, scout troops, the local museums and zoo, and just about and place or event where you'll find lots of kids. These include interactive science demonstrations or "magic" shows, simple directed hands-on activities (mini workshops), in-depth science or engineering design workshops, labs or experiments, and dozens of engaging hands-on STEAM activity tables that are ideal for Science or STEM/STEAM Nights at schools or other special events.
Our big signature event is the "Super Day of Science", where we literally take over an entire school (usually an elementary school) for the whole day, performing 5 or 6 different shows (or sometimes mini-workshops), and/or setting up one or more rooms with several hands-on activity stations that kids can explore mostly on their own (mini versions of our STEAM activity tables). We also a somewhat smaller scale version of this, but still a full-day "Day of Science" for your school, where we present just one of our shows but repeat it tailored specifically for each of the grade levels. Another variation is to present a show for one grade level followed by a hands-on lab of related activities for each class in that grade.
Most of our programs align closely to the 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Science. Check out the links below for more information about each of our different program types.
