Cool Science Live-stream Lab
RSVP Form

Join us every Thursday at 3 pm MDT for a live-streamed hands-on STEM lab for kids in partnership with Concrete Couch.

This week (July 23rd) it's "Soap Boat Racers".  We'll investigate the cohesive strength of water molecules, and how adding soap affects that strength.  And of course since this is Cool Science after all, we'll show you how to have some fun with it!

This hands-on lab is ideal for all kid scientists ages 5-14 (younger kids with adult supervision), but space is limited so sign up soon.  This activity page will help you prepare, but here is a summary of what you need to participate:

  • Plastic cup(s)
  • Large pie pan or baking pan
  • Plastic bread bag clips
  • Q-tips or toothpicks
  • Spoon
  • Dish soap
  • Paper clips, buttons, thumbtacks
  • Pepper shaker
  • Water pitcher
  • Bucket or large bowl
  • Water
