For 2023 the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival will officially run from Saturday, September 30th through Sunday, October 15th. Our experiment last year expanding the festival to 16 days (from the 9 days of previous years) seem to go well, so we are continuing with a 16-day festival this year. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier to schedule (and for folks to attend) more events, especially those on weekends. As always, the festival will feature dozens of special events designed to educate, entertain and most importantly engage the general public with the wide variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) taking place throughout the Pikes Peak Region.
This is your organization's opportunity to host your own special event that shows off what you do in a fun and engaging way. Events may be open to kids, teens, adults only, families or anyone. You are free to do whatever you want (within reason of course), including determining the date and time, number and ages of the participants, require reservations, and charge a small fee if necessary to offset any unusual expenses* (we strongly encourage you to offer the event for free if possible, or at a very low cost if necessary so that all can participate). Note also that since many virtual events were popular since we introduced them (out of necessity) in 2020, we are happy to consider virtual special events for this year if you prefer.
Examples of past events include science trivia or comedy nights, talks, lab and facility tours, computer coding workshops, star gazing nights, guided nature hikes, science of cooking or brewing workshops, science story time for kids, farm tours, gardening classes and much, much more. For more special event ideas check out the 2022 CSCSF festival schedule and flyer (454 KB PDF).
Please complete the form below if you would like to host a special event in this year's festival. If you have any questions before or after submitting the form you may contact us. We're always happy to discuss any ideas or concerns you have, and help you get started if you're not sure what you want to do or need any support. We'll follow up soon with more info or if we have additional questions. Thanks.
Note: If you would like to schedule several events feel free to contact us first rather than submitting multiple forms.
