The Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival is all about presenting cool and exciting opportunities for the general public to discover and engage in amazing Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) taking place throughout the Pikes Peak Region. For 2023 we are once again expanding the festival to 16 days of special events, from September 30 through October 15 (and we may include a few special events outside those dates as well).
Cool Science Carnival Day will be Saturday,September 30th (10 am - 4 pm) at UCCS. As of now there is no reason to assume anyone will be required to wear a mask, but we do suggest that anyone not vaccinated should wear a mask inside buildings. If anything changes we will update this page.
There are several ways that your business, club, school or other organization can join in the CSCSF fun. Your organization may choose to present your own demonstration show, performance or hands-on activity station for kids in the Cool Science Carnival Day at UCCS. Your organization may also host your own special event anytime during the Festival dates (we will also consider including some special events anytime in September or October). Finally, if you're organization is not quite ready to create something on your own but still want to participate as a group, we can train your member volunteers to run one of our Carnival Day activities or Festival week events. You can also check out the festival events and Carnival Day activities from last year as well as previous festivals in 2018 (Carnival Day), 2019 (Carnival Day) and 2021 (Carnival Day) to get a better idea of what the festival and Carnival Day is like and for ideas for events and activities (in 2020 the Carnival Day and most festival events were virtual).
We also have lots of opportunities for individuals to help out during the Carnival Day and Festival week. Cool Science relies on its passionate and dedicated volunteers to plan, manage and host this extraordinary science festival.
