An introduction to the fascinating kingdom of fungi. The talk will be divided into three sections based on types of macro fungi and will cover some basic identification of edible, medicinal, and poisonous mushrooms. While the focus will be on mushrooms of the Rocky Mountains, important and fascinating fungi from other regions will also be discussed.

While the focus will be on mushrooms of the Rocky Mountains, important and fascinating fungi from other regions will also be discussed.
Ben Kinsley is an avid mushroom hunter, amateur mycologist, artist, and educator. He was introduced to the world of mycology through his involvement with the New York Mycological Society (NYC) and got hooked through the teachings of renowned mycologist Gary Lincoff. Now based in Colorado Springs, he is an Assistant Professor and Co-Director for the Visual Art Program at UCCS and has been serving as President of the Pikes Peak Mycological Society since 2020.
