![]() Even though we can’t all be together right now, Cool Science is still committed to bringing science to you in any way that we can! As part of that commitment, we have entered into a partnership with the Space Foundation Discovery Center. We are doing live virtual demonstration shows labs each month. For December, it was our Cold Show - featuring experiments with dry ice and liquid nitrogen! We spun liquid nitrogen upside down, made dry ice “sing”, and even produced a cloud inside the studio! You can watch the full video on the Discovery Center Facebook page. Check it out! Our next virtual program with the Space Foundation Discovery Center will be on January 21, from 11am to noon. Save the date, and come do some science with us! Click here to leave a comment.

Can you guess what this photo might suggest to a physicist? To find out, check out the Cool Science Jokes (under the Cool Stuff menu at the top of the page). This was probably the most popular part of our original website years ago, so we're excited to bring it back- and give you a chance to add your favorites to our collection!
This is just one of many things we've been working on while we're all stuck at home. We've added several new Cool STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiments and activities that you can do yourself (also under the Cool Stuff menu), with more coming soon. We're also posting fun STEAM activities on our Facebook page every day that we find from other great websites, so be sure to follow us and check that daily. And you can also find fun lots of cool stuff in our Twitter feed (Tweets are on on our Home page too). Teachers will appreciate that we have aligned our Cool Science Demonstration Shows with the new 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Science. We're currently doing the same for our Hands-on STEAM Lab Experiments and Workshops, so look for that coming soon. Finally, don't forget our live Zoom STEAM classes every Thursday at 3 pm. Check our Calendar and this previous Cool News blog article for details. So much Cool stuff happening these days! click here to leave a comment ![]()
On April 16th 8 budding scientists learned how to freeze water instantly in our first Cool Science live Zoom class (a collaboration with Concrete Couch), and it went so well that we'll continue offering these free livestream classes for kids every Thursday.
Next up on April 23rd we'll show you how to perform a science magic trick that will amaze your friends, and all you need are a few long strips of paper, tape, scissors and some very cool math! You can find out more on our Try Science at Home Mysterious Loops activity page. If you want to join us live, RSVP with Concrete Couch. Space is limited as we want to keep these classes small enough to interact with everyone. Be sure to check our calendar to find out what's coming up each Thursday. Classes are usually best for kids ages 8-14, but parents are always welcome to help younger kids give it a try. You can also follow us on Facebook where we are posting a new fun activity link for kids every day. click here to leave a comment |
